Every time you need to register a website, you would be required to register it separately and would need to fill in separate applications. You cannot possess a copyright on the complete website if you haven't registered each component of your website. It is a time-consuming and expensive process to register a complete website, which is why you should emphasize on registering works that are important and unique to you.

Process Of Filling Application Online
Creators of a work can file an application for the copyright by e-filling facility provided by the government. The typical Copyright Counter for copyright registration in India has been closed since 2014 to popularise the online filing. Follow these steps to fill your application online.
Create a User Id at this website by entering the asked information.
After confirming your email ID, log in with the credentials you just created.
As you are logged in the website, click on "e-Filing of Application" located at the left of the menu.
Click on the link in the red bar that says "Click here for online Copyright registration".
A form will open, which needs to be filled-up in four steps: => Form XIV asks for basic information such as name, address, nationality, etc. Click mark the "I Accept" blank. => It will take you to next page, named Statement of Particulars, in which you have to fill the nature, class, description, title, the language of your work as well as other important information. Save the information to go to the next tab. => The third step is to fill-up the Statement of Further Particulars. Enter information asked in the boxes, and click 'save' button to proceed to next step. => The next step is to make the payment. You can pay using Debit or Credit Card, Net Banking, Postal Order or Demand Draft.
After the form is successfully submitted, a Diary Number will be generated. Take the complete printout of "Copyright Registration Report" and "Acknowledgement Slip".
Offline Filing Process
Application for registration is to be made on Form XIV. This form can be downloaded from here.
Separate applications should be made for registration of each work.
Each application should be accompanied by the requisite fee.
The applicant or the advocate in whose favor you are executing a Power of Attorney should sign the applications.
Send the documents by post to Copyright Division, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, 4th Floor, Jeevan Deep Building, Parliament Street, New Delhi: 110001
Approval Process
After filing the application, a creator has to wait for 30 days to register for copyright in India as the Copyright office check for any objection filed against your claim. If there is no claim, the application goes further for scrutiny by relevant authorities. Once everything is clear, you will get your Copyright registration in next thirty days.
Important Points To Note Here-
If an objection is filed, it may take another thirty days by the Registrar of Copyrights to decide the result looking at the claims supported by both the parties.
If any discrepancy is found in the application, the examiner may take another month or two to remove the same.
No application is rejected without hearing the claim of the party.
